Build a New Connection by Being Yourself
Healthy connections are more likely to grow from honest conversation than from trying to perform an ideal version of yourself.

Meeting someone new can make it tempting to guess what they want to hear. That can create pressure before either person has had a chance to understand whether they genuinely get along. A better starting point is to be warm, honest, and interested in the person in front of you.
Share in proportion to trust
You can talk about your interests and what matters to you without sharing private details immediately. Trust is built through repeated, respectful interactions; it should not be demanded after one conversation.
Make room for differences
A connection does not require matching opinions on everything. Ask questions with an open mind, explain your perspective without trying to win, and notice whether both people feel heard.
Let the other person choose too
Interest should be mutual. Avoid persistent messages after someone declines or stops responding. A healthy relationship—romantic or otherwise—leaves room for both people to say yes, no, or not yet.
